Synopsis
Arlin Richard Allred was born in St. Charles, Idaho in 1891. His family, including mother, father and nine boys, moved to Fairview, Wyoming, in about 1895. His father died leaving his mother and the boys. They all had to work hard to survive. In 1908, Arlin went to Brigham Young College in Logan, Utah; he studied blacksmithing and mechanics. He married Irene Call in 1910 in the Salt Lake Temple. In about 1913, he bought half-interest with Dave Williamson who had a blacksmith shop in Afton. Later, he and his family moved to several different locations including Logan, Utah, where he worked at Cache Auto Co. As active members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he and his wife served as missionaries in 1953 in Arkansas. In 1960, they built a home in Logan.
