Synopsis
Built of Grover Park red pine in 1936 by Calvin Pendleton - Muddy String - Val & Shelly Pendleton. From the September 2004 SVHS Calendar states Val and Shelley Pendleton Barn (Thaune) "Built in 1940 for dairy operation by Calvin Pendleton. He milled the red pine lumber himself - it's tongue and groove boards fitted together tightly & painted to protect from weather. The logs were brought from Grover Park by horse teams & sleighs in the winter. Design was typical of the area. It was known as Pendleton Dairy. The Barn is loved & family members have carved their initials in the posts between cow milkings. Once owned 550 acres & had 220 milk cows. The barn is currently used for storage."
