Synopsis
Built by Rube Johnson before 1930 Reynold Johnson - Smoot. From the July 2005 SVHS Calendar. Reynold Johnson Barn (Smoot) "Built in the 1930s by Reuben Johnson our of logs and was originally built for a lambing shed then converted to a milk barn in 1942. Roof was taken off & used for decorative wood in 1952 & replaced with a tin roof. Barn was designed by Reuben Johnson & is unique because it is all logs. Currently used for storage. It is a landmark of earlier times and part of our heritage. Currently have 583 acres, bur no longer have livestock. Raise hay and grain for cash crops."
